What should I bring to class?
Each parent is responsible for proper swim attire, swim diaper, towels, and goggles.
What age can they start Baby Sharks class?
3 months old
Is there anything I can do at home to help my child?
Yes, practicing at home will help tremendously! If you have a pool at home, you should practice as much as possible. If you do not have a pool, many skills can be practiced in the bathtub.
Is it common for kids to cry in the 1st class?
Rest assured that it is not unusual to see tears and hear crying. Most often children experience fear due to separation anxiety or the overwhelming feeling caused by the pool environment. We encourage apprehensive children to continue attending swim lessons in that they may actually regress if they do not actively participate in class. The more often your child is active in the water, the less chance they will have of developing an irreversible fear of swimming.
Is there a registration or application for DSA online?
Yes you can fill out registration form online.
What is the cost of your Baby Shark and Swim Team classes?
Baby Shark and Swim Team are $15 a class or $90 for the month.
How many classes will it take until my child can swim?
It is impossible to determine how long a child will take to learn to swim. Some factors which will affect the learning process are age, physical development of the child, playtime in the pool, frequency of lessons, and parental style/approach to swimming. Many two year olds can swim around the pool breathing independently after 2-3 months with two lessons per week. Each child learns at his or her own pace, thus it is impossible to determine how long it will take the child to swim across the pool independently.
What happens during a typical Baby Shark lesson?
A typical lesson will be with each parent or guardian in the pool with his or her child. We will cover floating skills, pool awareness with regards to grabbing the edges of the pool and basic safety skills for your child.
How do I cancel a class?
You can call, text, or email. Communication is very much appreciated.
Can 2 or more parents combine lessons?
Yes, semi private home lessons are available. This is a great way to split the cost with another child.
What are your methods of payments?
I accept cash, debit card, credit card, check, or venmo.
Is there a drop-in rate?
There is a $15 day rate for either Baby Shark or Swim Team.
Can you make up classes?
No makeup classes for Baby Sharks or Swim Team unless the instructor cancels the class. Consistency is the key.
How long are classes?
Each class is 30 minutes
