“
Tanya was so patient and calm while giving my one and half year old swim lessons. She taught her swim safety and swim basics, and my daughter learned so much! I now feel so safe with my little one in the pool.”

Because of Tanya Orozco at Desert Swim Academy, our two-year-old daughter has a love of the water, practices pool safe skills, and most important is becoming an excellent swimmer! We started our daughter in the mommy and me “baby sharks” class at 11 months. As she loved seeing and swimming with Tanya, we transitioned to individual lessons twice a week. In just a year, she has become a competent and safe swimmer. There is no better feeling as a parent than instilling these life saving skills! Knowing our weekly lessons are my daughter’s favorite time of the week is an added bonus! We look forward to continuing to swim with DSA for many years.

Good news! Your child will swim after working with Tanya! Our experience with Tanya was a positive one. My child was a little timid during our first swim, but Tanya welcomed her in and helped her feel comfortable. After our last swim lesson, we had gotten dressed and were readying to go home, when my daughter accidentally fell into the pool where we had just completed our lesson. Instead of her and I both panicking, which would have been a likely scenario prior to lessons, I was able to remain calm and my daughter was able to confidently swim and climb out. This simple example showed me how even during an unexpected fall and a moment of stress, my daughter remembered how to swim and was able to quickly and safely exit the pool. Tanya takes water safety as a priority, and in doing so is saving lives throughout our desert. As a homeschooling parent with Inspire and with school funds to spend for educational purposes, I had many choices when it came to choosing a swim instructor… so I am glad that we found Tanya.

SAFETY TIPS
Supervise: When in or around water designate a responsible adult to watch young children. Never leave children unsupervised near a pool, hot tub or natural body of water.
Air-Filled or Foam Toys: They are not safety devices. Don’t use air-filled or foam toys, such as “water wings”, “noodles”, or inner-tubes, instead of life jackets. These toys are not life jackets and are not designed to keep swimmers safe.
Buddy System: Never allow anyone of any age to swim alone; even expert swimmers can develop cramps, get dizzy, or hit their heads.
#RespectTheWater
Our Mission at Desert Swim Academy is to provide a safe non-stressed environment, while ensuring the best possible experiencefor students, parents, and staff.
#WaterAwareness
We believe in the aquatic journey of providing lifesaving swimming skills to all ages. Accidental drownings can happen at the beach, your pool at home, or even a small bucket in the backyard.
#StopDrownings
We cannot stress enough the importance of swim lessons and pool fences. Most drownings occur at a neighbors and friends pool.
